My name is Franz Nygren, I am 24 years old, and I was born and raised in Umeå. In March 2026, I happened to stumble upon a watercolor course where I learned the basics—having never painted before in my life.
From that point on, my artistry took off, and I found a passion for creating something meaningful. I felt a strong desire to break the routines that my life had always followed and try something completely different from anything I had done before.
Constantly inspired and guided by my grandfather, who is an artist himself, my work has continued to evolve. In my paintings, I don't strive for perfection or photorealism; quite the opposite. I am drawn to the imperfect, where I try to create and capture a feeling that the viewer can truly connect with.
